"All my life, I thought of love as some kind of voluntary enslavement. well, that's a lie: freedom only exists when love is present. The person who gives him or herself wholly, the person who feels freest, is the person who loves most wholeheartedly."

"In Iraq you have to believe in God. No, not because we are slaves to a religion. But because we have to hope that there is some good somewhere in this universe." - Aadil pg 18

Really loving this book, however it has taken over 1 month to get half way due to study commitments. I recommend it to everyone. The author puts forward some very good points about the war on drugs and the increase of violence and corruption as the result of it, and also the real underlying cause of addiction. Some much needed consideration!

"People in stamps used to say that the whites in our town were so prejudiced that a Negro couldn't buy vanilla icecream. Except on July fourth. Other days he had to be satisfied with chocolate." "Of course I knew God was white too, but no one could have made me believe he was prejudiced."

So far I'm enjoying the suspense as I have no idea where this book is headed. I picked it up for free on pixel of ink and thought I'd give it a shot. I have noticed a few grammatical errors though, but nothing major.

So far I'm really enjoying it. Is quite possibly the longest book I've read though.

It takes a little while to get into the vibe of the story because it is so old fashioned, but it is really starting to get interesting now. Think I'll enjoy this book.
