so far I am really enjoying this read! Mina kinda reminds me of Cybil from “As Many Souls As Stars” which I really enjoyed reading, so I have high hopes for this book.. I was a bit nervous starting this because I wasn’t a huge fan of “Hungerstone” 😬 but I was really intrigued when I read the description for this book and it’s not disappointing me so far!

he does such a good job at describing grief and how all encompassing it can feel at times and the way it just colors the world differently, he’s brutally honest in his depictions which is kinda comforting in a way ngl and also truly i am not envious of Travis but i kinda like the idea of getting an inside look at other people’s lives, like people watching in a much more intense way lol

“She switched on the television but everyone’s having a normal life, so she switches it off again.”

“the shadows cut deep into your face, and you look older, and younger […] and even with your eyes open, I know you’re dreaming, you barley see a thing.”

really loved and related to these descriptions of grief

I saw this coming after that last chapter but it still broke my heart 🥺

“and I tell her I hope […] is okay, but I know this is the beginning. And all I can do is watch.” ugh I just know this book is about to rip my heart out 🙃

I am enjoying this book so far! I like the writing style and honestly think all the different deaths are so interesting and diverse

honestly very excited to read this book!! I feel like I’ve been struggling with my own grief recently and I thought this would be a good read about love and loss and might provide some perspective about dealing with it. It’s definitely different than my usual reads but I’m enjoying it so far!!

don’t want to dnf so I’m pushing through, it’s not horrible but it is just very boring to me

finishing one book and starting another is always so bittersweet 😩 but I’m excited for this story!! I haven’t read many books with a post apocalyptic setting so I’m interested to see how this goes!!

might have to reread some of that last chapter, I started falling asleep 😴🫩 lol but it’s pretty good so far!! very interested to learn more about Elsebeth’s background bc she’s so observant and seems to have a lot of survival knowledge

I usually take a lil break between books but I hopped right into this one! which is kinda fitting bc where the last book I read was rather slow to start, this one is quite the opposite but so far I’m into it!

I just know I am going to fly through the rest of this book lol it is kinda slow to start but once it picks up it’s very hard to put down!! I fear I get Alice’s anger too bc Lottie I need to know how we got here expeditiously 😂 but I do love reading Lottie’s pov!!

trying to make up for the fact that I didn’t have much time to read this weekend 😩 but finally getting into a pretty lengthy Charlotte section!! I love the switch of perspectives and how we see Sabine from someone else’s pov!!

I’m finally starting to see the connection between these characters !!

I feel like Alice’s story line is pretty slow moving but it’s finally starting to pick up a bit !!

things are really picking up now, it’s hard to put down!!

these chapters were insane in such a good way!! I was so immersed reading Maria’s last chapter, I was not expecting things to go down like that but I loved being surprised!! I love how distinct each character’s personality is, you can feel the difference in the writing depending on the character and I feel like that makes the reading experience a lot more fun especially with multiple perspectives !!

I am loving all of these Maria chapters!! I need to know more about Sabine asap too lol I can’t wait to see how all these storylines connect!!
