There making it out like Ruby is the murder she killed Otto too test it out get revenge maybe she thought in the night he was the beaver maybe the beaver went back to his wife and so she tried to kill him for it and when that did not work and he was bed sick with his wife he wanted Ruby bac so she met him in the beach and ended for good and now wants to leave town as the women who is not sluty but a strong mistress

So like the beavers death was very unnecessary I felt like he was my favorite part of the plot and his death took away the powerful and complex element I would have loved to see his relationship with Ruby and maybe even a full circle moment of breaking free from his toxic marriage I still think it could be his wife what if she caught him and her and they got into a fight maybe she was tired of his ways and killed him

What if hear me out it’s the wife she killed the toad to hopefully shut down the mill to get more quality time with her husband then when that did not work try to kill her husband to get him to stay at home where she wants him

It’s Chitters he heard from his kids about the poison and wanted to gain full control of the swamp starting with the toad and then attacking the head. If he sees an opportunity for money to be made and to save the sorry state of the business so he could secure a future I would not be surprised if murder was done

I was at page 30 last time but mistakenly made the mistake of putting 50 The beaver hired the mouse to kill the toad however he was to scared and maybe he even did kill him yet it was not done in the manner he had wanted I think Lefty could have been hired to dispose of the body but one of the beavers daughters heard how upset the dad was and wanting to take care of his problems she stabbed him making lefty unable

If it’s not that super rich beaver guy then I would be surprised! I can already see him paying the mouse to go do it and perhaps the reason the sheep was so frantic was because she saw it all. I wonder why the knife was in his back? Maybe it was post put in there because he went from front to back. The question is why because he was obviously dead lol

So far the Old Man is stuck with the fish on the line desperately trying to grab it. I foreshadow that he will lose the fish and when he gets back to the land he will tell the boy he found nothing for he does not what to disappoint him. I think the Old Man represents our daily struggles and the boy is our potential/what we dare to become/the fun and joy in our lives/ our pure youth
