I’m very excited to read this translation of the classic poem. After watching the 10/10 film adaptation from Christopher Nolan I’m ready to dive into the literally component of this epic story. I’m a little worried about accessibility but everything I’ve read about this translation indicates it shouldn’t be a problem. Can’t wait to dive into this classic.

Like Anderson Cooper and I have a deep interest in disaster/wartime journalism. I’m expecting to be more interested in the middle eastern conflict portion but open to be surprised.

200 pages in and I like the style of writing here. Simple, elegant, straightforward. I think this is accurately described as being a”American classic” with an emphasis on America because all the American values of the past and what we still may consider being present today, are represented in this book. I enjoy the sentiments that are being demonstrated but at this point I want the them tested through adversity.

End of Part 1

Already pretty great. A lot of insight into world events and a plethora of direct quotes. I wonder about the legitimacy of the accounts but I trust the authors. This book does make me yearn for a fictional story however to have more “fun” but I still hope I can breeze through the rest.

End of day one. Really fascinating so far. Great work at painting the behind the scenes picture of these events we’ve been seeing in the news over the past years.

Just now starting this book I’m a little intimidated by the large page count. Although upon starting I was immediately hooked. I have a huge interest in contemporary politics and fascinated by Trump. I’m curious to see how much of this content will be stuff I already know versus completely new revelations.
