Every bit as good as it is hyped up to be. Extremely entertaining and addicting. The philosophy of the characters, exaggerated or not, is so influential and impressionable it's easy to see why people idolize Hunter S Thompson. A hyper masculine, insane, funny, and intoxicating entry to one of the most stylized books I have ever read.

Easy, entertaining, read for beginner/new readers that is also a great critique of society. Probably going to be my first 5 star read this year

listening to the phenomenal audiobook narrated by Richard Poe. What finally got me to start it was a clip from the famous scene (also narrated by Poe) of Judge Holden examining the birds and saying:

"Whatever exists without my knowledge exists without my consent,"

There are a bunch of Cormac books narrated by Poe, and he also narrated East of Eden.
