It struck me about the numerous positive reviews plastered all over the book itself - each one comes from a place the author has worked. He must be a good fella for his coworkers to say such good things about this book. It’s a disaster, not getting any better.

Still plodding through this lackluster mess.

Gawd, this is like plodding through mud. There’s so much useless information in every paragraph that it feels like a textbook where the author might’ve written a few short stories. Even the historical parts are mounds of information you don’t need tossed at you. Seldom have I ever encountered a book that doesn’t ignite my imagination, but here we are.

It’s a whole bunch of STUFF. Here’s some information, there’s a bunch of names and inconsequential things, and, oh, yeah, let’s get back to our hero who says virtually nothing. It’s just tons of things and more things.

Gawd, this is dull. It’s as if the author (a quality writer) is only pointing at things and describing them…. There’s little human interaction. It’s dull but a fun read of history so far.

First 30pgs are dull. Tons of history with little to no character movement.
