Getting a little irritated by it now tbh. The situations are getting rather farfetched now, particularly the relationship between Morgan and Rupert: I get that there’s meant to be an ambiguity about his feelings for Morgan but it seems out of character for Rupert to go behind his wife’s back and risk what appears to be a stable marriage. Still, I’m prepared to be persuaded differently in the coming chapters.

Good. Very middle-class, very English, very white, but enjoyable and thought provoking in any case. Probably the first Murdoch book (this is the 5th) I’ve read that isn’t cringe in places or clumsily written: I feel I can relax with this one.
