I am loving the stories of these courageous women, some I know, others are new to me.

One major downside of the book is Hillary’s constant style of putting herself into the stories. As her highly-public life over the years has offered her opportunities to meet many of these people, entering into their life stories adds little to the book; actually it’s quite distracting.

Fast-moving tale of Hitler’s rise to power in early ‘30s & banning of books juxtaposed against the 1940’s story of a GI-widow’s efforts to get books sent to troops in the
[I absolutely Hate the style where each chapter bounces back & forth by a decade between NYC and Berlin. It’s an over-used mechanism that is very irritating. It automatically takes 1 star off the rating; it may lose two by the end.]

What a fabulous book. Just loving it. Great old (105) character, charming story. Trying to read slowly to enjoy it more.

Have to abandon this book. Half-way through and the story just is not going anywhere. Disappointing.

Despite the topic that is always murder, Agatha always seems to make it a light adventure with interesting and sometimes quirky characters.
I thoroughly enjoy rereading her books. It takes me away from the horrors of current events.

Probably one of the most boring books I’ve ever read: run-on sentences, over abundance of statistics , excessive early usage of every 50/cent word the author could find. Ho hum.
But other readers report it gets better, so I shall continue to plow through and hope for the best. Onward.

Abandoning
Too challenging to figure out who the author is referring to half the time. Hate this kind of writing.
