Going through this book, so far I have learned that I have naturally possessed the virtue of not condemning or complaining about people, but the friends I’ve been hanging around with have been doing the opposite so I’ve been starting to do it. I saw it as a kind of weakness because a lot of people around me would say I’m making “excuses” for that person when I saw it as trying to understand them.

I’ve said “hmm!” A couple times so far already, and I can relate to a lot of what the book is saying so far. I like how fast the information is being put out but also covering each topic completely with several examples. I am excited to learn what I don’t know.

The writing format of this book is really interesting. I like it, the dialogue isn’t like anything that I’ve ever read before. I do think that the pace of this book is also kind of strange. I feel like it’s slow, but there’s also a lot of information being pushed while it’s hard to understand because of the writing style. So far I like it.

Southern boring

More pirate facts, still pretty boring but it has intermittently cool pirate stories.

So far it’s just facts about pirates. It tells the stories about different pirates and even included Captain Hook. I did not know that Blackbeard was a real pirate and I think that was really interesting. To be honest, I find this book pretty boring for the most part, but there are some interesting aspects within it. I am going to try to finish it.

Progress is pretty slow right now since I physically cannot keep my eyes open. I’m curious if Brayden gave me a junior research paper in the form of a book, because it seems like I’m reading a textbook. So, not a research paper, but a textbook lol. at least this one is more interesting than the ones that I’ve read in the past.

I don’t really know what’s going on right now. I think this is a nonfiction book since it has citation numbers next to sentences, and I know I have to keep reading but it is a little difficult to follow long. Headed to sleep after 4 pages since I am exhausted.

So far a lot of interesting information. Didn’t know there were different types of pirates, I just figured all the different names that pirates were called were all the same thing, which is kind of true but hey it’s pride month and it’s like different kinds of gay people. I also did not know that pirates were prevalent until the 19th century, very cool to know.

I just read a good chapter about how to support those around you and I feel like that’s really important for my situation right now with Josh. I will definitely remember to not rescue anymore but reassure those like Josh that they are stronger than they think.

I feel like the book has a lot of good insight so far. I’m surprised that people say that this book is shallow and will bring up experiences that you cannot control, which indicates to me that they didn’t really read what she wrote. There’s a lot of good practices in this book that I utilize when it comes to my relationships, and helps me be less anxious approaching them or maintaining them.
