I didn’t realise it was a children’s book, but it’s a short, easy read, so I pushed on.

It has a clear moral message and trots along a simple, cosy‑crime‑style plot, before ending in a burst of mayhem worthy of a quick‑witted Home Alone kid.

If you like that sort of thing, you’ll enjoy it, though I’m still not sure why it leans so heavily on US English.

Paper thin plot, completely predictable, but wonderfully Christmassy ..... Perfect! ☺️🧑‍🎄🎄
