This is one of the most unsettling books I’ve ever read. What stood out most to me was how often the book made me cringe. The body horror is incredibly graphic, and there were moments throughout the entire novel that made me uncomfortable in a way few books ever have. Nick Cutter doesn’t hold back when describing the effects of the parasite, which creates a constant feeling of dread and disgust.
