This book is already just as traumatizing, sweet and overall amazing as the others if not more. I’m really invested in the plot since I have yet to see the movie

This book was really long but really meaningful and strong. Coryo just became an absolute physco, but I can sort of understand why. Also his immediate hatred for the mockingjays was crazy. Lucy Gray was smart to run but I wish we could know what she thought. This book sort of displayed how conforming to fit society can end up destroying you and so can jealousy and a craving for power. Overall, loved it. (SOOOOO LONG)

This was SOOOOOO good. One of the best reads I’ve had in awhile. I would maybe even say this tops Things We Know By Heart. So well written, so much suspense, and the twist of Charlie’s heart surgery was ACTUALY unexpected.. I loved how Alice only really had thoughts and internal dialect when she wasn’t with Charlie. They are so cute together and just the perfect example of soulmates from friendships <3<3

Nan visited John and everyone was super excited after the fact and then THEY GOT IN A CRASH! Why does this keep happening in all of my library bookssdddddssssss. First “Things We Know by Heart” and now THIS AHHHHH

Coryo is definitely becoming more phsycotic. He’s really jealous of men that he doesn’t even know (Billy taupe) because of Lucy Gray. Besides the jealousy things seem really good for him right now in the districts. With Sejanus, his new friends Smiley, Beanpole and Bug and also the soon to be reunion between him and Lucy Gray, he seems pretty happy and even a little bit hopeful.

Heather and Bennett have visited the cottage and it’s more and more obvious Charlie and Alice are in love. They’ve been inseparable for awhile now, and before he left to go into the city for 2 days he showed up to their cottage saying he couldn’t leave without spending another day with her. Heather is trying to show Alice that love is always worth it and that she’s totally in love with Charlie

The games are over. He didn’t get to see Lucy Gray again before Dean Highbottom told him he must be a peacekeeper. He’s been shipped off to 12 and is completely embarrassed and despaired. Sejanus has just become a peacekeeper as well and Coryo’s genuinely happy to see him for once. Tigris’s letter was really sweet to me but Coryo took it really poorly saying he never wanted to see anyone from home again.

Lucy Gray and Jessupp finally made an appearance at the end. It sounds like deep down Coryo is still just a teenager trying to make ends meet and do what’s best to secure his glorious future but he seems to be forgetting that he promised to keep Lucy Gray alive. For a while he was really focused on her for her but now she only crosses his mind when thinking about how he can win the scholarship donated by Mr.Plinth

I’ve reached the point where Coryo goes into the arena to retrieve Sejanus but I didn’t realize dr.Gaul said he can’t leave until he has him out… Coryo is starting to become more irritated with the wrong people which is the beginning of the shift to madness

Percy is the biggest supporter of them, Charlie is still really hesitant but Alice doesn’t seem to want to make them more than friends that desperately either. They’re so cute though. They talk for hours and do everything together

They’re both sort of depressed now, but they still make each other even happier. It seems like maybe Charlie is just taking things slow but is soon going to be willing to go the distance with her and make things official. Alice might do the showcase now too because he said he wanted to go watch her

Charlie is so careful and self conscious I love him. He’s so careful with her because he knows he wants her to be more than just a friend with benefits but doesn’t want to hurt her. She just wants the benefits or atleast she thinks that’s all she wants. They did finally kiss though and it was quite hot. They’re adorable. Her face hurts from smiling so much with him.

Charlie broke down and cried in front of her, he’s no longer in trouble with me. It could be the fact that I’m listening to Noah Kahan, it could be the writing of this book. But I feel a deep confusion and longing to be loved right now. To be loved the way Charlie loves Alice. A confusion like Alice is feeling trying to decide if she keeps trying romance with Charlie because they both know they want it.

Charlie is not looking so good anymore. He still flirts with Alice but keeps shutting down any idea of them being together. He totally has attachment issues since he was a playboy before he thinks he’s going to hurt her is my guess. In this last chapter I read, they were getting a little hot and heavy and he told her nope. They’re just “friends”

He’s super flirty with her and makes her feel sooo comfy and happy and free. He’s also a super emotionally deep person. Her birthday party is a free for me. The glitter, the tiaras, the company the fanciness. Something’s happening with Charlie though. He called them friends in front of his brother and now I have a feeling Alice is going to go on that date with Harrison to check off “kiss a cute boy”

Very unexpected… there’s another love interest. Charlie seems a little rough but the more I learn about him the better he appears. This other guy, Harrison seems alright but he’s too much like the guys she’s used to. Nan also REALLY likes Charlie which is obviously important to Alice

Her bucket list is so hot and so real. She also sort of reminds me of myself in a way but I also like to think I’m a little less shy than this

Idk what’s happening with my page #s but Dill wasn’t poisoned by Lucy Gray like she was in the movie she just straight up died. We have no idea what is happening with Lucy Gray. I’ve reached the point where Sejanus sneaks into the arena 🫣

I wish the book wasn’t over. I really do. This book cut me really deep for a book I’d never heard of before. Her dad is fine, she went to explain the full truth to Colton and thought he was dead. Shelby found her and told her she couldn’t hate her though she knows the whole story and that Colt wanted to see her so she went and they understood each other better than ever. True soulmates more so “heart mates”

I’m in utter shock. I knew he’d be mad when she told him the truth but I wasn’t expecting it to happen in a hospital waiting room after something happened to her dad… after they created all of the soul ties possible, with the letter that started it all in his hands and end with him telling her to forget him because he never should’ve known her at all!! AHHHH Kms

I’m so giddy. First off they just kissed on the kayak after lying down and watching the 4th of July fireworks!!!! And she said SHE was giddy. They’re so cute the way everything is all about them when they’re together and literally nothing else matters. No secrets they keep, no hurt they hold, no part of their pasts are important when they’re have each other to just be with.

I truly feel like I relate to Quinn on a deep level minus the tragedy aspect of her life “You trust easy, but questions seem like they scare you, which means… You have things you don’t want to talk about’” I just feel like this is REALLY me. Colton and Quinn share the same struggles on different levels and Quinn is truly herself with him. It’s refreshing to read about.

The beginning of one of the chapters confirmed that daydreaming isn’t wrong or bad for your heart so long as you don’t settle anyway. She’s definitely started healing. She’s so torn about Colton though and I totally get it. I’m just reading about it and can’t come up with a solution that’s entirely right. She needs to tell him but he’ll probably get upset and she’ll hurt their relationship.

They both enjoyed the beach and didn’t want to say goodbye but they did ofc. Gran reminds Quinn where she came from and how much better she’s doing. They could all tell that Colton changed her for the better without knowing he exists

I just realize that this means Quinn’s heart has always been connected to Trent/Colton’s. She feels survivors guilt. She thinks being happy is a betrayal to the one she lost. She’s so drawn to him and vice versa.

She went with Colton on his kayak ride.. it was so sweet she trusts him a lot right now but she mentioned a heart and the guilt crept back in

Coryo said that Lucy gray’s kiss would be enough to make him crazy… he has NO idea how right he is I guess. Highbottom’s views on the games seem to have gotten to Lysistrata and she seems really disturbed by the games. Also Coryo hates both Dr.Gaul and Highbottom? Clemens is mad at him too.. The way they hung Marcus on display.. (“he looked more like a rat” paraphrase)

So so cute. She went back to him with a plate of brownies (knowing they were his favorite that little creep) and Colton smiled and somehow convinced her to spend the day together at the beach!! He seems really into her despite how weird she’s been. I almost bet he likes her so much because she “doesnt” know about his heart issue

She WILL go back to the beach she has to. It seems like her recent interaction with Colton is really all she needed to start moving on… she started looking at the new sunflower as a sign from Trent to move on and she already seems.. happier? I guess? more sure of herself? Idk but she seems different in a good way
