It's taken me a week to get this far. The story isn't catching me... I might just give up...

Really!? This book is called ARENA ONE and after introducing the reader to the arena, half way through the book, having some action in it for 10 minutes, we are back to another God Damned CAR CHASE . I am seriously miffed.

OK. So the last few chapters have all revolved around a car chase. I hate car chases. Especially when they span over such a great deal of the book. I keep reading cause I want the book to start, but considering I am nearing the middle I am losing hope.

So far I don't particulary like this book. I don't like the gory details (but I guess that one is on me for wanting to find a good zombie book). I am also not happy about how women are portrayed so far... Kinda useless in an apocalypse it seems. And the motorcycle gang... They're just too stupid for me to accept them as a real threat. And lastly... What is the point of the initial euphoria? Seriously?

At the moment I feel Amazon's free peek at this book lead me on a wild goose chase. Just as the sample ended I was so into the story I just HAD to purchase the book. (I'm reading on a Kindle... If that's important to anyone....) I'm not sure if it was just my attention span that's the issue or if it's the book failing to grip my attention. But I hope the story picks up soon.

Nothing new has really happened... Apart from adding (ignorant?) racist and sexist undertones to the mix...

More or less half way through the book... And so far it hasn't been much more than "Shit! Let's whack a Zombie! OMG! They bit you! Another herd! Let's whack these as well! OMG! I hope my wife and kid is OK! Aaah! I need ammo to whack the herd in front of my car! OMG! I am so bad ass!" Gotta admit... A bit bored...

Overraskende morsom lesning. Dette er den første boka i sitt slag jeg leser, og jeg har allerede fått slått ned noen fordommer jeg hadde mot denne sjangeren.
