I had wondered what the correlation between man-apes vs. modern humans experience to the monolith Clarke was trying to make. Why would he include a 3 million year separation of human evolutions interaction with the supposed same anomaly? I thought, well it couldn’t have been just to show how we evolved. Until I realized it was how unnoticeable the mind changed after the interaction in both scenarios were.
