keep picking this book up and putting it back down over the past year trying to get over that 100 page hump but its finally starting to move at an interesting pace

Mona Awad’s narrative voice *chef’s kiss* literally is unmatched by contemporary fiction writers.

This book is not scary; it is bizarre and I am okay with that.

So far I've read a few of the stories, in no particular order. From the reviews I've read so far, this seems to be the way to do it; most agree that the collection feels disjointed and there is a lack of fluidity amongst the writings. I agree but it's been...enjoyable so far. I'm not familiar with short-form fiction but it seems to be intentionally experimental and a respite from traditional fiction.
