It's been quite entertaining reading how Tod outsmarts the hunter'a traps, and how in turn the hunter makes more extravagant traps, in a weird arms race

Updating because I keep forgetting. I've so far read The Gospel According to St. Matthew Chapters 1-15 the last few days during one of the "Messianic Checkpoints" in the reading plan.

Diligence - that is, swiftness to act upon what God requests of us - is what separates the one who leads a mediocre life and the one who lives a life of immense charity and graces.

The thrill of the chase, the anticipation of rewards, the disappointment of failure. Copper makes chase for the glorification of his master, Todd runs to preserve what little he has.

Crazy to see the scene from the bear hunt where Chief is part of a separate part of this original version of the story too.

It's neat to see how Disney will take scenes and set pieces, completely remove their context, yet still make a compelling story from it. The entire bear scene happens within the first chapter as a chase after a man-killing bear, yet in the movie becomes the foil of the hunt after Tod and an emotional fracturing of the friendship bond in the movie.

The dog, Copper, is near sighted. Make note.

Sir Launcelot slayed Sir Turquine, who had slain many knights, and Sir Peris de Forest Savage, who slain many women.

Now we focus on Sir Launcelot, King Arthur having defeated Lucius of Rome. Launcelot has been enchanted by 4 queens, one of which is King Arthur's sister Morgan Le Fey, and tempted to take one of them as paramour.

Reading has been slower due to irl events requiring my attention.
Today we read how Susanna was oppressed by the corrupted elders, how Daniel, inspired by the spirit, interjects on her behalf and tried the men against each other. It's reminiscent of how Solomon tried the two women, how one betrayed herself in her coldness. Both men were caught in a lie by their own tongues

Arthur and his Round Table defeat emperor Lucius of Rome, and send his body along with many other kings back to Rome as payment for the tribute Rome desired from Britain, Ireland, Almaine and Germany.
