It was long! But I liked it. The world Harkness has devised combines favorite fantasy elements (witches, daemons, vampires) with occasional historical references to important people, places, and (alchemical) manuscripts. Book two finds Dr. Diana Bishop (and her +1) in Elizabethan England, so I will have to continue the trilogy! Warning: This is a vampire romance. A long, overly-protective romance. With bundling.
