I feel so terrible for everyone in this dang book and I love it so much. I love that I can FEEL how the characters are feeling. I’m going through all of the emotions with them lol.

If you haven’t started this series yet, start it NOW. And if you have read up to book 4 then you are in for a treat with book 5.

Aaaaaaaaaa this is everything I hoped it would be so far! The emotional damage is real and I am so here for it!!! Obviously I hope it all gets resolved and everyone gets a happily ever after, but I hope they tear the world to shreds along the way.

I’m about to start Jassyns POV for the first time since what happened in book 4. I will be crying shortly 🥲

Still such a good story!! I feel so bad for our FMC, her situation is just absolutely impossible to deal with. And our poor Kaelen, too! Wanting so badly to be helpful but also put in an impossible position. What ever will they do?!

Also, Father Thaddeus is absolutely WILD but people like that definitely exist within the church which makes his character even scarier.

I genuinely have no idea how this will end!

So lovely!! There are a few instances where descriptions feel a little repetitive, but I’m too invested to care.

Marta is just the sweetest! When she was talking with our FMC, I almost got the feeling she was speaking from experience 👀 just a theory though, of course. I could be wrong 😅

I don’t know how this is going to go but I’m already heartbroken for Eleanor! What are Thaddeus’ plans for her??

I get the vibes that Aldric doesn’t want to be the heir, and he really truly does care about Kaelen and would much rather just get to be normal kids with him. Maybe he knows something Kaelen doesn’t? Like maybe the King has plans to get rid of him if he can’t comply?

I’m in love!!! Just as good as Swordheart and I can’t wait for the 3rd one to drop next year!

So far I’m so glad that I started the TOG series with this book!! It’s introduced a good bit of worldbuilding lore while still being packed full of action to keep you interested.
