An interesting non-fiction. I had to move to listening to the audiobook as I really struggle to read non-fiction these days but I enjoy listening to it.

I am really enjoying this book! The action begins right out of the gate, and I was hooked from the beginning. I wasn't expecting the LGBTQ+ storyline with Henri and Luke, which was a pleasant surprise! The gore in their section is A LOT--rightfully so to depict the atrocities of slavery.

So far, the author has done a great job of making you feel the pain and suffering whilst also showing hope and resistance.

Honestly, this is quickly moving up my list of favorites. Shall it make it to one by the end? Mayhaps…
