Found a copy of this book and SPQR at Pennywise books, so I picked up both (actually Krysta paid 🤪). This book has been harder for me to put down, so I’m rolling with it. Bryson’s style of history writing makes for super fun reading. I also just bought two more books this week. Time to LOCK IN.

Beard takes nothing at face value as a historian. She gets me every time with the structure of, “scholars determined that based on this artifact XYZ happened… but ACTUALLY that didn’t happen at all, and instead it was probably THIS!”
