There is the terrifyingly and hilariously strong possibility that this title should be taken literally.

Finally sucking it up, cutting another tie to Amazon, & shifting over to LibraryThing next week. It's a great website with giveaways, forums, graphs, giveaways, SantaThing, support for local libraries & bookstores, & a bookish version of Instagram (Litsy). I can't believe I'm leaving GR behind after 11 years, but it's time.

Would love to see y'all over there. I'm @ellarebee.

One very glaring thing is that this focuses on violent and drug-related crime approaches and neglects any mention of white-collar crime. There's only so much one can fit in a book, but I wonder how she handled it given that she was in San Francisco at the time.

This book is fifteen years old and Harris’ views have (hopefully) evolved somewhat since she wrote this, but there is no “concept of plans” as a certain other presidential candidate closed with during last night’s debate. She goes into crime prevention and recidivism reduction plans in detail. Her perspective and experiences are solid balance of statistics and empirical evidence.
