Chigurh just keeps getting closer

McCarthy has this way in his writing to build the most subtle yet powerful suspense. Every single decision Moss makes has you questioning what will come next. Chigurh gets more terrifying as the overlooming threat by the page. And the ignorance of what the sheriff has himself into is wild

Wow. The chilling description of Chigurh that McCarthy gives truly shows the lack of like, humanity he has. Then the description of the world around them is amazing. A little challenging to follow since McCarthy doesn’t use a whole lot of punctuation but I’m getting used to it. Then when we go over to Moss, he really does give as McCarthy says, a “good ol boy” aesthetic. Very excited to continue

Update: I read up to here and stopped like about a week ago. I’m moving onto a different book. Mainly because I don’t remember what’s going on. Prob will return to this one after a couple books I really want to read

Atwood writes like Cormac McCarthy. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I think McCarthy does a better job at wording things to where you can tell when it’s a thought or conversation

I’m sad

Atwood does an amazing job building this terrible world Offred finds herself in. I can visualize the pain and suffering that all these people are going through leading such a depressing life
