Interesting premise, slowly growing loving nightmares could be bad

I get that one of the three houses is haunted and scary, but honestly the rest of this book is just describing a dream vacation I never knew i needed.

I have just realized you can turn audible to show % completed so I dont have to guesstimate anymore. With that said this book takes place in ALMOST THE EXACT LOCATION AS THE LAST ONE I READ OF HIS. Guess he likes Alabama. Also apparently he wrote the screenplay for beetlejuice so that's pretty cool. So far people have stabbed a body at a funeral and a little girl drew something creepy without looking at it.

The story itself seems fine so far, but I love how it is written so far.

Okay so my concern was valid, it went super fast and the mind bomb has been activated, which kills everyone who knows and resets the monster to the next scientists. Problem is, the book still has 40% left so wtf is about to happen?

The main character finally knows about the main antagonist. We are going memory bomb pretty early so nice twist. I haven't thought about it much but wtf is going on with the live redactions?

It was nice to have a chapter where we learn more about Quinn, but at this point im sure the end is the memory bomb, which unless they do something special with, will be lame.

Holy shit. The insane giant pillar of a destroyed civilization that we cant see from a war we cant remember is overshadowed by a bleeding man riding a godzilla sized tower of spiders to mindfuck people death. I worry that since every chapter is going balls to the wall the payoff at the end won't be satisfying.

Strong chapter 2. I didn't realize this was going to have a sort of anthology format with Quinn and the UO as the throughline. If it stays purely an anthology I think this would have made an excellent final chapter instead of a chapter 2, which makes me think either everyone dies st the end or it doesn't stay an anthology. Also I feel that some of the other divisions at the UO would be more fun to see, if less scary.

Okay chapter 1 was very good. Explained what an anti mematic was, and was spooky as hell.

This is gonna be a trippy mindfuck book. Idk if that's good or bad.

Saying that the incan empire was "absolutely gobsmacked" by smallpox is the only way to make that funny.

This book is terrifying but also kind of funny because of the authors folksy metaphors
