Listen it’s Christmas and I’m lightly bored
a) not very sexy for a book with a lot of sex talk
b) lots about sex positivity, consent and porn/sex work but then someone’s sex tape “leaks” and everyone’s just like “woo hoo can’t wait to watch”????

Hmm not that far in but I don’t think I enjoy books like this about imagined famous people and their lives, I know there’s a couple others I’ve tried and can’t think of their titles but I’d rather read proper non-fiction I think… also assumed I was easily halfway so maybe zzz

Sophie Hannah is the only crazy mother I’ll keep reading once I realised this was about a dog

“Endlessly fascinating” was probably a bit strong, Bill Bryson

I keep reading the words of this book with a full 🤨 face of eh?? but haven’t stopped yet

Nuuuu just realised the audiobook doesn’t match up with the print version. Torn between stopping and just eyeball reading, and keeping going with the audio, which seems to potentially cut a lot of stuff out (not a bad thing according to every single reviewer on here). The 8 hour audio / 700 page paperback should have really stood out before to me as a discrepancy lol 🤔

Sorry if rude but reading the quotidian details of someone’s eating disorder, fictional or not, is just sooooo boring

I have GOT to stop reading reviews on here before I’ve finished a book because how do you read the author bio “Dr Nussaibah Younis is a globally recognised expert on contemporary Iraq. For several years, she advised the Iraqi government on proposed programs to de-radicalise women affiliated with ISIS”, and complain the book relies on stereotypes and is unrealistic. Guys
