I’m in the middle, but so far it was pretty interesting to read about the origins of “nationalism” and nations that we think now treat like air in the sense that everyone agrees that they exist.
It was interesting to see that right wing nationalism was first at identity politics - you had to identify as Polish, American, French, Ukrainian etc. even if you didn’t really care.

Kris is starting How Emotions Are Made: The Secret Life of the Brain
Highly skeptical about dismissal of inborn and evolutionary heritage of emotions.
The fact there is no brain circut we can find is not a proof that it’s all in our heads.
IMHO mammals have lots of emotions. Like some article on dogs https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/bl...

Like deficiency of D3 vitamin can cause symptoms of depression. It makes sense to look for a root cause when something isn’t working. Not sure if metabolism is the thing, but the criticism of treating the symptoms makes a lot of sense.

Kris is finished with Amerykańscy bogowie
It was pretty boring to read the first 1/3 of the book as I've watched the TV Series but it got really good at the end.
Knowing that it's not the fault of the book that I've seen it already I have to raise my rating.

A lot of science thrown around but I liked it a lot.
