Like the narrator ALOT - listening to this on cd audio for car commutes...I’ve got a feeling I may need to transfer to a book, as its so rich in character and reasons, that I don’t think I’m going to keep the story straight. HOWEVER... with what I’ve listened to so far..I’m really impressed.

Read- but I need to go back and 'post-it' note the heck out of it.

Narrator is a rockstar. Enough said right now

I'm probably going to go back and read the actual book after I'm done with the graphic. There is too much unanswered, too much 'missing' in wanting to know more about these awesome characters. I LOVE YOU JULIET!

I'm not a big fan of scientific details - though this is heavy on science- it works!!! it's written to capture a readers curiosity instead of explanation of (this is why, blah blah blah)

I'm on Disc 4 - I'm impressed at the amount of research and detail that went into all the facts and possibilities that this really could happen. I usually yawn at too much building in a story, but I'm hooked on the whys, whats, whens, and I'm listening to this going 'feed me! more'

Listening to the audio book, this is my first Michael Crichton book, and I'll say one thing (right now) he's very good at building suspense of what is on the Island. (even though we already know ;)

So far its not dramatic enough for me, we're still building and the 'suspense' is weak.

We are only now getting to snippets of the missing influencers' life. There has been a lot of building individual characters who have been following her, and their curiosity of where she is. No grit to where she is.

Multiple voices, still at the stage of establishing the followers of the infamous Violet, and their opinions of the iconic 'mommy' influencer.

Ooohh, I'm hooked already!

I am currently listening to the audiobook, the narrator is an excellent choice in the voice role of Eliza. Heres the conundrum, I'm missing out on examples of Eliza's drawings of her webcomic. This is an example of a good problem to have!

Struggling a little with the native American words which isn't helping me get a strong understanding of what is happening. I'm looking up the words and this is helping. It may not be a book for me but I am going to stick with it as its a book group read and reading it is a must to get a better overview of the story's discussion topics.

So far so good. Listening to the audiobook and I like the narrator, that's definitely helping to keep me focused. When receiving calls from 'the chain' they are using the synthesized voice instead of the author attempting it (hopefully I'm making sense) and that is adding to the intrigue of the book. It's written in a third-person POV and it works for the story also.

Struggling a little bit, I need to go back and look up some Native American words to really be able to immerse myself in this story.

I love this author!!! a PI story, hardboiled crime at its best. It reminds me of silver screen movies such as 'The Maltese Falcon' with its first-person narrative, deeply descriptive thoughts and actions of what Joe King says and does.
Large cast that adds to the charm, individually unique, purposely inserted into a story that makes you a detective right beside him, righting a wrong. The audiobook is a must!!!

Hardboiled Detective fic, gritty with a wide pool of interesting and dynamic characters. You'll want a pen and paper, time to figure the clues out...who set up Joe!!!

New Books, forthcoming are great, but I wanted to dig into the book world and visit and revisit some of my favorite books. Currently listening to the audiobook and it-is-amazing!

Wow, wow, wow.... Can't wait for this to be a best seller so I can say I TOLD YOU SO!

My first book group pick. Interesting book, topic and writing style. Hopefully, I explain it right - basically, the characters stories/actions at that moment we see, is the story, comments for a story that we are not seeing first hand.
Plenty of content to discuss!
