Dog On It by Spencer Quinn is the first book in the Chet the Dog series. It is fantastic (IMO) and it's available as a Kindle Daily Deal today for $1.99. If you like dogs, detective stories, and good humor (esp. dog humor), you should check this series out.

This series, unlike lots of others, seems to keep its freshness. I'm enjoying this third book a lot.
