It's giving the same vibes as verity including an ethically challenged main character, a wife who needs 24/7 care upstairs and shouldn't be able to move bc of a terrible accident, husband that is interested in the main character he's convinced to work at their home far away from the city and the wife's diary of how they met, and more.

I struggled with finding interest in this plot. I really wanted to like the characters but it felt like it would be a better sitcom than a novel. Slow moving. Dnf
