Persisted through 6 hours of this audiobook. It’s still not grabbing me, so I’m bailing.

The writing is very dense, with long sentences and some unfamiliar vocabulary. So far I’ve gotten quite a good exposition of the characters and I’m interested in where it will go. Love that it is set in NZ.

Loving this domestic noir book about an amnesiac.

Boo hiss! The sound quality on this Audible book is rubbish, so I'm going to return it. But the storyline is great so far. I've reserved the book at my local library.

Listening to the audio. Not liking this so I'm bailing at Chapter 7.

Feels like Lord of the Flies meets The Firm.

Very relatable and engaging.

Not that great. It's my least favourite book I'm reading. The characters are caricatures and the plot is just not that interesting. After a month, I'm not even halfway so I'm going to give it up.

Listened to this as audio from the library. Loved the very long first part...Martin's youth in the small town.. but then got tired of it. It's very long and didn't feel like investing any more time.

I'm hooked

Totally did not see that coming! I was lulled by the storyline, then BAM.

A whodunit amongst a group of university friends 10 years after they spent a week in France, where a beautiful French girl disappeared. Enjoying the story and the audio narration.

This is a good thriller along the lines of Girl on the Train and Woman in Cabin 10. I would recommend reading this but NOT listening to the Audible version for two reasons. The narrator is not convincing as an alcoholic with mental problems, she sounds too normal--a goody two shoes, even. Secondly, there are internet forum transcripts which are irritating to hear out loud with the repetition of each person's name.
