Always appreciate, admire, enjoy S. Barry, and this one is possibly the best so far. Elderly woman's POV, deft weaving of history, fast moving, eloquent, poignant. Loved it.

I just finished readng Connie Willis's 1996 REMAKE ... very disappointing. Brittle main character and far less sense of future/reality, likely as a mirror of the digitized world she presciently described. Just never cared about any of the few characters.
