WTAF RIN?!?!
Just finished chapter 34 and I can’t turn the page over I don’t want to. There’s only a dozen or so pages left and still so much needs to be done??! But howwww only a vestige of the book remains :(

I don’t want to speak out the inevitable I know what I’m about to face

Genuinely end me. Kuang why are you torturing us like this. That short lived alliance we had between Nezha and Rin was so gut wrenching. When he said “But I never wanted you dead”, I felt as though my lungs had compressed my fragile heart into a mere blood clot. It would’ve been merciful to have us hating him, not this pitying internal conflict Rin and the readers are facing.

Three new shamans. I hate that this book makes me believe there’s hope for them. I feel they are just delaying the inevitable. This won’t end well for Rin. But isn’t that obvious?

Had to take a little break from this brutalising book, almost as thought I’ve been pre mourning what was to come. And I was right. The trifecta has supposedly come to an end. We’ve been reunited with Chaghan amidst all the chaos just for him to depart once again.
I believe we will have Rin battling with her thoughts and decisions no matter what. Nezha…is a sensitive topic. But it’s futile to lead by emotion

Didn’t get to read much today but all I want to say is
Wtf did I just read…?

Souji’s death is perhaps the very embodiment of what sanguinary conflict and war can make of a person; how they can shape someone into a being almost unrecognisable from who they once were.

I am talking about erosion of identity itself. War is destroys everything it touches.

The constant betrayal has me so frail and weak. I feel exhausted and I cannot fathom how Rin feels.

I’m not even a quarter in but this book is finishing me. Has me on edge is an understatement I am hyperventilating at every moment. I have beads of sweat forming at my temples. One point I want to highlight is the interaction between Daji and Rin. I was clutching onto my chest. It was either “No Rin wtf are you doing/saying?!” To Oh…I’m actually hypnotised by Daji myself.

Absolutely emotional from the get go. I have higher expectations for this book than poppy war tbh. The emotional grief is so powerful but also so reasonable because at the end of the day Rin was just a little naive girl put in Sinegard because she wanted to escape marriage and her abusive household and yes she had no choice but now she has to face the consequences of both her actions and the brutality of war.
