I like Philippe Sands QC more and more with every page.

*SPOILER* I've seen into the future (i.e. the next page) and Donovan dies. So this is how the end begins.

Good choice to pick up a book of short stories - less a distraction. On a side note, Diaz's prose is dazzling.

Started reading this back when I first moved to SG and visited one of the public libraries and now, at it again. I think I was at the part where they'd split their cabin mate's head open and eaten him?

"in their competence they [spiritually evolved people] are called on to serve the world an in their love they answer the call" Really liking it, actually.

So glad it still makes sense!

And here I was wondering how that one night could possibly take an entire novel to describe ...

Seems to me that it has a knack for exploring strange and important concepts through the most simple-minded of characters.

This book will take patience and perseverance.
