A thrilling space battle with a boarding from the bad guys. Every VA so far has been absolutely stellar.

Bonus - no more awkward boner remarks

Look, the action sequences are great fun and the author clearly had a blast making them.

That said, how many awkward boners can one man write out in a book about a man stealing an alien artifact?

There was a pretty exciting space heist sequence that occurred. The VA remains phenomenal all throughout.

I’m still kinda creeped out by how the main character continues to describe the designer lady companion - it gives me the heebie jeebies

It’s a fun book but can we move beyond describing the specifically genetically engineered anime girl in such.. desirable terms? I don’t need to know how the main character sees her boobs.

A fun ride, but a a bit predictable, as I saw the whole “protagonist tries to lie to potential love interest about his plan to sabotage her quest for ancient alien tech in dangerous space territory by teaming up with the AI she created” twist a mile away.

And the way he constantly describes the genetically engineered anime waifu girl is a bit… off putting. It’s kinda voyeuristic

I’ve got to the part where revelations are revealed and whatnot, but can the protagonist NOT constantly describe the genetically altered to be perfect real life anime girl in such a creepy manner? It’s giving me the heebie jeebies

I’m REALLY hating Miranda at this point. Her bully tactics remind me of how my old and current bullies operate, and her insistence she’s done nothing wrong angers me at a primeval level.

The narrator is absolutely fantastic. Miranda’s VA also really sells the character. Absolutely wonderful job so far

A great read into the insight of Admiral Rickover’s leadership style, especially as I come into my own as a lead test engineer for my unit!

An incredible insight into the mind of one of the most influential officers the American military ever had. As a new organizational leader and engineer, this book is helping shape my own style to influence anyone I may serve one day

The fall of Ephyra has begun. One of the major stories of the entire universe- Marcus abandoning his post to save his father - is occurring. What a read so far!

Meh. Most of the books I've read were captivating and held my attention. This is probably the first book I've read that I would classify as strictly 'guilty pleasure.' It unfolds like a paid fanfiction, but I'm not complaining. It's a good way to pass time or take your mind off of things.

The Hammer of Dawn counteroffensive has been described several times over the course of the novels, told from the perspective of politicians, husbands, soldiers, and scientists. It only gets more chilling everytime. What if you were the one who decided who burned the planet- you, or your enemy, whose only goal is total annihilation.
