None of these characters are even minutely likable. I’d stop reading, but I’ve already invested. Main character is a needy idiot.

If your spouse isn’t answering after 24 hours - CALL THE POLICE! If they’re being jerks, it’s documented and they looks stupid. If they are injured it’s documented and you don’t look AS guilty. 🙄

1 percent into the book and they describe the potential pro athlete as various traits ….”and white, it mattered.” Unimpressive and unrealistic. Pro athletes are frequent not white. This is more of the narrative that makes people feel less because of their color while pretending that they are trying to “see them” and relate to their struggles.

No wonder home schooling is met with suspicion. Books like this is really ridiculous on the subject. Just once could there be a book that actually uses realistic data on the subject and shows how kids and families usually look? Come on! 🙄

There are a ton of plot holes. It is entertaining.
