Nearly 300 pages in and there hasn't been one thing that's happened that I care about, just a bunch of events that piss me off. All the characters are vapid and insufferable. I have no idea what the point of this story is but all the repetitive name dropping and dumb descriptions are making me fucking mad. It's like a bad-boy version of Gossip Girl. I must be missing something.

Reading the app. Today is day 6. I posted a recipe to the index so I hope that improves my Citizenship Quotient.

Picking up a book that grabs you is such a thrill after suffering a reading slump.

I keep having to put this book down. It is more disturbing to read than Swing Low. It is making me frustrated with the Canadian mental health system.

This book resonates. That is all I have space to explain.

Picked it up yesterday and started reading it to the kiddos. The 6yo and I love it (the 4yo prefers Captain Underpants). I actually continued reading it, by myself, last night after I put them to bed. Can't wait to finish it with them!

Makes me wanna go hiking! Also made me cry.

I'm on chapter 13 of the final book, Mother's Milk, which takes place in New York City and it's all terribly exaggeratedly anti-American, which I can take, except the World Series is on TV in the pizza parlor they're at, and that is WRONG cause the story takes place in August. I mean, come on, Edward. Americas Favorite Pastime is not something to ridicule.

This is my great-grandfather's memoir. I am not close to that side - my maternal side - of my family, so I am enjoying reading about him, his life, my relatives, and the general situation of farmer-fishermen in turn-of-the-century arctic Norway. He is not the best writer, but it is eye-opening.

Half way through the Tenant of Wildfell Hall and I've realized the version I'm reading is based on the mutilated edition >:(

I pulled this book off my shelf this morning to read because I figured if I'm gonna work among librarians, I better get used to Jane Austin.

The children I used to take care of gave me this book, aw :)

All my books were packed in storage so I asked my housemate if I could borrow one of his. (He is one of those people who only have a dozen books and haven't finished any of them.) He gave me Ficciones and I loved the first page of Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius that I got myself an equivalent copy... It is dense but highly enjoyable.

This is on hold for the moment. I wish goodreads had a journal section like last.fm so I could explain why I've chosen to stop reading. . .

Shocked by how much I relate to the narrator.

Fun read - well, once got over my initial embarassment over the un-21st-century-level-PC-ness.

Really enjoying this book. I can see where Pynchon got a lot of inspiration - I'm wildly inpsired. I wish that there was a place on the web as devoted to hotlinking all the Pale Fire references as there are for Gravity's Rainbow et al.

For my friend's birthday I bought two copies of this book: one for him and one for me, and we will read the book together and discuss. I have just finished the poem, I am blown away. Nabokov can write.

This book has got to have the most comma-filled sentences I have ever seem.

I am devouring this book. It is nice to be so into a book again. Its been awhile.

Unfortunately, my copy of the book split in two so I've had to put it on hold until I can figure out how to put it together again :(
