Still perusing this with delight. Soo engaging. And the prose is so wonderfully written. Loving this.

darn, every page felt so delicious. I'm feeling that this will be a strong candidate for one of the most poetic and beautifully written book I've ever read.

"Time Passes" was too beautiful and poetic. How could one describe seconds of life like that? That prelude of the empty house was too vivid. The thing about Woolf, her writing allows you to feel, to see, to smell. And it was extraordinary. Loving it so far.

Oh sh*t oh sh*t. That Lydgate x Rosamund arguments were intense! That inward conflicts between characters are so vivid and often brutal and I find these chapters are getting fast paced than I imagined. Up till this point I'm still finding myself surprised at how Eliot build every dynamics. Just utterly brilliant.

Well, Lydgate turned out to be as f**ed up as everybody else I gathered. I knew it was vanity since the beginning with Rosy anyway. They're so alike. Bulstrode old wounds and shame!! Yeah, Will's history! It's odd, I know each character is so messed up and all but I don't hate them. Eliot somehow makes me care a lot and I just love spending much time with them and I know I'm gonna be sad when it's over.

Damnnnn. What a supreme novel!

Didn't know there were some fantasy elements too in Shakespeare. Adoring this.

Finished Book II and decided to watch the 2021 adaption right away. BEST DECISION EVER. What a wonderful treat!

I have a feeling this one would be my perfect intro to the genius of Shakespeare. This was soo approachable and fun to read..

Society, politics, religion, marriage, and finally... ART. Dorothea and Casaubon, though chaotic, continue to be such compelling drawn characters. Every character is SO HUMAN and complex, and Eliot wrote with such extreme details. Been perusing every word, and enjoying myself following the conflict. Will, Lydgate, Mary..

A lot of these people are just wayy to real. I feel like I'm studying my own neighborhood.

I loved the way Eliot occasionally commented on her characters with some witty remarks. THE STYLE, It's fascinating.

I'm living in Middlemarch! I never thought I would kick off 2022 with this. I've never seen such a portrait of life and people in other novels before. And I can already sense this impressive and intricately written novel is going to be one of my all-time best reads.

the dialogue is perfectly pitched, the world-building is intriguing. I finally got the grip up till this point. The journey has just begun.

that correspondence between Alice and Eileen is interesting. I found many of Rooney’s compelling ideas there. Having a great time with the characters so far.
