An Icelandic translation a la Sigrid Undset? Sign me up. Love it so far.

Did not expect to enjoy this as much as I am. It’s hilarious.

This is everything I want in a book - historical setting, magical realism, interesting characters, humor. It’s already one of my favs this year.

Only 30 pages in and I am absolutely in love with the main character. Such a great read aloud because there are opportunities for many character voices. I’m especially partial to tiny French voices- so is my son. He was giggling and swooning over the adorableness, too.
