Ok damnit, my partner has now heard enough of this over my shoulder that she wants to start the whole series together! YAY! But damn, now I'm going to have to shelve this until we've caught up. Listened tot he first few chapters of The Calculating Stars together and I am SO damn excited!

Damn I'm enjoying this so much. Not only a great witty tale, but the narration is superb! (and so is his singing!)

This is the second series I've started and I ahve to say I really love Barker's style.

Have wanted to reread this with my partner for SO LONG! Finally getting right into it.

I know we've been reading this for about 2 years now, but we're SATILL enjoying it. It's our holiday away book, and it gets us in the mood for fossil hunting every time. And traveling in South Africa, with one of the most complete rock records of most of the major time periods is so satisfying. What a great book. I almost don't want to finish it

Ok I have to put this one on hold. There are just too many little snippets of information I don't remember from the first series, so I've found some of the short stories and am rereading the whole shebang. Yay!

Damnit this is too good. I barely remember the first series and it's driving me mad. I'm going to HAVE to reread the whole damn Powder Mage again.! Yaay! Damn!

ooof, this is dense. Might be alittle too complicated for my very distracted end of year brain. Might have to actually read this one in print instead of audio. BUT I have found his other book, The Climber, and that is resonating hard with me. So lets see.

Started book 3, realized I barely remembered anyhting from 1 and 2, so decided to restart the series. And my GOD I'm loving all over again form book 1.

This is super good so far, really loving it.

Ah John, please, really, can you just tone down the Dude Bro New York Cool Guy Banter for a little bit, just a tad, please, for the love of God. Otherwise you're stories are all pretty cool. Ideas are great. But people don't banter during panic ALL THE TIME. It's funny when you do it sometimes, it's extremely tedious when it's every conversation.
