This is such a varied and riveting read. The Hard Science-Fiction genre retains a certain realistic quality that makes the reading all the more intriguing. If one can imagine someone welding steel panels in a near vacuum one can imagine people living on the moon. What is even more exciting about this book is that Weir explores so many different cultures that one does not feel stifled by whiteness.
