First chapters and introduction incredibly self-indulgent. Is this about Weinstein or Faulkner? Lordy. I hope it gets better. Weinstein's methodology sounds horrifically unhelpful in understanding Faulkner. I'm considering shelving this and I've barely begun.

Mind numbingly boring so far.

Bit repetitive. Hammers its thesis from point one afresh with each new example.

I forgot how good I am skipping filler these days. There's plenty of good stuff here, he just needed an editor.

I read this as a teenager and I remember thinking it had some good stuff, but was a bit boring and endless. I had a much longer attention span back then and finished all books. That is no longer the case now, so we'll see if I can persevere.
