Eels in mythology, Egypt, religion, history, literature. Anthropomorphism, Rachel Carlson. How do eels experience time? Eels in captivity postpone death indefinitely and stay stuck in their second metamorphosis body if they're unable to leave for the Sargasso sea. Eels that choose to go through their third metamorphosis to become sexual adults can be as young as 8 years old or as old as 47 years old.

We’re not sure how eels reproduce? We can’t make eels that are in captivity reproduce? We’ve never seen an eel reproduce in the entire history of humanity? Some scientist in the past even suggested that eels reproduce by rubbing their bodies against rocks and whatever particles fly away become the new eels.

Ok so some eels choose to not reproduce ever and go on to live for 100 years and others wake up one day (randomly) and decide that they no longer want the solitary long life, that they want kids after all, hence committing themselves then and there to end their lives in the next 6 to 12 months. They just wake up one day and make the choice that will AUTOMATICALLY propel a series of bodily changes. AUTOMATICALLY. HOW?
