Listening to this on the drive from SF to LA. Overall enjoying the story, but not thrilled with the writing. A lot of information is repeated sometimes in the same paragraph and while I usually love the level of detail of the police procedures, this one feels really bloated in terms of that kind of information and exposition. It slows down the story a lot more than I ever noticed in previous books.

Listening to this one as my walking/exercise book!

I actually thought this was a different story, and didn't realize until I'd gotten a ways into it. I should have checked the cover. One of the drawbacks of the Kindle. Why don't they start you on the cover rather than at the beginning of the text?

Wow, this one really draws you into a new world. I'm having trouble putting it down, so I had to leave my Kindle in the other room while I'm working, so I'm not temped to just read another chapter or three.

This is quite diffferent from what I usually read, but I decided to give it a shot. I'm enjoying it a lot. The author has taken what could be a pretty cliche plotline and infused it with a few new twists that really pleased me.

Now this is really getting going, which is far too late in a book. I happen to listen while exercising, and so far I haven't felt like I was sorry my workout was over and I had to put the book away. We're finally getting to some interesting developments and I do want to know what happens next. I was hoping the book would have been more gripping from the outset.

There are two performers on the audiobook, one male, one female, yet they don't have the woman read the female POV scenes and the man read the male POV scenes. What's the point?
