It's focusing a lot on Lizzie's "love" for Steyne and how to make him do the reverse.

When exactly she fell for him leaves me asking Why? What part of an awkward wedding night and eight years of him banging other chicks was so swoonworthy?

Why is that after one night of sex and eight years of absence while he presumably cheated on her, he only has to show up and she starts falling in love.

No apology, no time showing her he's not a total dickwad. Just his presence.
