Poetic? Certainly beautifully written... And I think I will be done with it within a few days!

I read a review of Chabon's new book "Telegraph Hill" and remembered how much I loved Cavalier & Clay. Then I remembered that I picked this book up on the street a couple of years ago, so I figured I would try it. Chabon's certainly is a good writer, but I feel like I am reading a Soviet paperback or something. I hope to pick up the rhythm and enjoy the ride.

I enjoyed most of these essays and got a whole new list of books to read.

I read Crimson Stain, the short story that comes with the novel and can't wait to read more of Easy's adventures.

novel and am excited to read more. Walter Mosely is a gifted author who takes me right to 1940s and 1950s black LA.
