This is harrowing. The reader does an amazing job making you feel Jade's emotions.

One review called this a slog and it really is. Interesting concepts but not enough so what or practical application to keep it interesting or personally applicable. Which isn't necessarily the author's job to do!

I'm imagining the future syllabus that has this and Naomi Alderman's The Power on it. I could see it making for a fun discussion.

I wish the author didn't always use the word "snatch". Yes this character is supposed to be repellant but ughhh I need a little less terribleness to get through.

This is such a great synopsis of some theses that I haven't been able to put together as cleanly about how there needs to be intersectionality in conversations about class and race. So clear!

I love this. Fascinating how silly we were about animals as we were learning about them!

I can't read this any more because of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzzOw2... this sketch, which I think of every time I open the book and I can't stop laughing.
