Parts of the World Cocoa Map chapter integrated well with my recent reading of the Chocolate Wars book by Deborah Cadbury, which was nice.

Do not want to read about tentacles, ooze and vehicles with eyeballs. Nope, I'm out.

A 5th of the way through, and struggling to find motivation to continue. Struggling to parse the characters apart too.

This is the Battlestar Galactica's story regurgitated.

This has well paced and detailed action scenes. Liking it more and more. Unlike common fodder books with quick dialogue, light on detail, like comic books in fact, this has a lot of depth to it's scenes.

I wasn't sure I liked this at first, but I think I've finally grasped a few of the fundamentals... And I just added the next two to my shopping basket despite only being about half-way through. So that probably says something.

Strong opening first sentence!!!!!!!

I have little memory of what occurs in this series, and as a result I'm thoroughly enjoying it. This is really excellent. Quite superb so far.

I'm quite liking this, though the segment I did just finish read a lot like a slightly more futuristic Black Hawk Down to me.

Not what I was expecting, as it's a retelling of The Last Colony from an alternative, unfortunately teenage, viewpoint so far!

This is odd. Coming into it cold it took a while to figure out what was going on as the narrative jumps between time periods and has a very strange use of gender that I still haven't got my head around!

Definition of a book I'm not enjoying much? The time it's taking me to read it. Over a third of the way in and no idea what's going on, very little interest so far, and not drawn back to it each night either.

I groan each time I see a chapter entitled Inigo's Xth Dream... TBH I'll be glad to get this over and done with. NOT feeling it. At. All.

Super hi-tech vs low-tech contrast hasn't grabbed me yet.

This is an odd one, with a Russian feel. Not quite sure what's going on yet.

Still strange, still not grooving with this quite yet. The dream sequences are particularly oddly placed thus far.

Not feelin' this one yet, but then I am only 97 pages in! Setting its scene which feels just strange. Dreamers and Shapers? A what-now?

Gets to it straight away, which I liked. Normally I find the openings of biographies to be slow going.

This is a book with (so far at least) 3 distinct Acts. I'm in the third. I suspect many an author would have split this tome into 3 separate, smaller books and charged correspondingly more.
