Carolyn is on page 165 of 384 of One Nation Under God: How Corporate America Invented Christian America
I want to highlight or underline something on practically every page of this book so far - riveting.

Carolyn is on page 341 of 488 of Herman B Wells: The Promise of the American University
It's taking me a while to read this book because I keep running into events & people that cause me to look for additional information: i.e. Wells' defense of Prof. Lindesmith against the Federal Bureau of Narcotics at the very beginning of the ill-conceived "war on drugs"; and his standing up to reactionaries during the McCarthy era, as well as racists & homophobes.

Carolyn is reading The Horror of Love: Nancy Mitford and Gaston Palewski in Paris and London
Enjoyed this as I do all things Mitford. Learned some things about the Free French during WWII and Roncalli-Pope John XXIII. "The Horror of Love", surprisingly, does not refer to Palewski's betrayal, but to jealously causing one to wish unhappiness for the person one loves.
