I didn't think magical realism would be for me. Then I read The Seven Year Slip and LOVED it. And now I think magical realism is what's missing from all the books. A delight.

Not even halfway and Kristin Hannah is just...how can one person be so gifted at writing? Character and plot development on point. I do find it interesting that the Vietnam War featured heavily in The Great Alone. This book is almost like a prequel.
