Sweet, simple, cute. Not enough complexity for my usual tastes, but cute.

I am so bored. Is it just me? I had read such nice reviews!

This is so weird. Not like any Megan Hart book I’ve read in the past. It’s hard to believe it was written by the same person.

Still superb.

So far, truly awful.

I like dark romance. I don’t like this. This is disgusting. The main character is manipulating and victimizing a kidnapped woman. Barely consent. No consent. Disgusting.

Agonizing. Excellent. Excellently agonizing.

This terrible so far. Really awful. Aggressive, manipulative brothers who claim women they’ve never met like possessions, over the top, old fashioned bodice ripper style naive, helpless women, and an Alamo/Davey Crockett/Jean Lafitte/Bowie knife plot line that makes no sense and does nothing but muddle the story. I have no idea what’s going on, and I’m pretty sure I don’t care.

This is not a love story. Rachel is a basic bitch w/ no passion, no sense of self, nothing to make me gaf if she ever ends up happy. I’ve been inside her 20 yr old head and her 30ish yr old head for 60 CHAPTERS and I still don’t even know who she is. If she doesn’t figure herself out by the end, I’ll proverbially (bc ebook) throw this book at the wall so hard, I’ll need to buy spackle.

This book is 97% “her lady parts”, “his length”, and lip-biting. This is me rolling my eyes so hard, I sprained a retina.

Really silly. Hallmark small town romcom silly. DNF at 27%. I’m not in the mood for all that fluff, so little substance.

Not the right book for my current state of mind. DNF @ page 115

This is a terrible book to read in the wake of Roe v Wade being overturned. I have intense fury about a fictional character from the 70’s having more rights than real women in the year 2022. DNF.

Still one of the best stories I’ve ever read. Still at the absolute peak of her talents: Laura Kinsale gives every fiber of complexity, pain, turmoil and fear to her work and still providing the most beautiful, triumphant, loving finishes. I re-read books very seldom my, but Kinsale makes every sentence so special and so honest! Unsurpassed. 🖤🖤🖤

I don’t want to be, but I’m bored. 🙁

3.5 not my favorite, although I have enjoyed the series. It was a little crowded, but there were a couple of storylines to complete so I understand why. It just never gave me that magic “they’re in love” feeling, so I’m going with 3.5. You may feel differently.

This book is boring and non-compelling to me so far. Despite the intensity of the storyline and character inter-dynamics, I feel nothing at all for any of them. I don't know if I'll finish it or not.

Stopped at 9%. Seems written for a younger reader, and I’m not in a YA NA mood.

Her powdery skin? Cream his pants? Ugh. This book is not my style at all. I’m at 16% and I’m trying to decide whether to give up now or after another trashy chapter or two. I hate both main characters and I don’t get the feeling that they’re going to grow on me.
