Gary Greenberg is 70% done with Knocking on Heaven's Door: How Physics and Scientific Thinking Illuminate the Universe and the Modern World: Library Edition
First half: why science is more robust than faith (v creationism).
2nd half: The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) sure is big.

"Knocking" fails to give me ANY of the abstract understanding of new ideas I got from Brian Greene & Stephen Hawkings' cosmology books. This is more like the DiscoveryChannel's series on Big Engineering.

This book might not get finished.

One of the most confusing books I've ever read/heard. That 1/2 of the Audible reviewers agree saved my ego (& blame the narration by author). Each chapter from diff. character, w/o explanation & the time jumps, & oh yeah, there's 1 character w/2 selves & 1 of the identities changed names! Hard to care w/o even knowing who's alive or not (or soon to reappear as ghost or in the past). Needed the Updike NY'er review.

Gary Greenberg is reading Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang
Oops: I must have read it years ago, so quit when I knew the plot twists before they happened. Sadly, I also decided it wasn't good either!
